In How to Make Magic Real, Ada is frustrated when her mom compliments her on her “pretty house drawing.” Ada was trying to make a diagram to plan Elyria’s garden, but it wasn’t working out so well.
Ada’s mom and I, however, loved her pretty house drawing! I asked my students to draw their own version of the drawing. Here is the one I chose to print in the book:
