Your brain jumps on that <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;habit&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Something you do all the time without thinking about it. For example, maybe you want to do more drawing, but you never feel like you have enough time. Here are the steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Identify the <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;habit&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Something you do all the time without thinking about it. You can have good and bad habits!&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/glossary\/habit\/\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>habit<\/a> you want to form: <\/span><br><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-281\" src=\"http:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/PA110166-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/PA110166-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/PA110166-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/PA110166-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/PA110166.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\"\/><\/figure>we&rsquo;ll set an example goal of spending at least a half an hour on one new drawing a week<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Find a way to remind yourself to do it: <\/span><br>create a calendar reminder on your device or ask your parent to support you by reminding you<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Think of a &ldquo;<a class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;trigger&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;something that causes an event to happen&lt;\/div&gt;\" href=\"https:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/glossary\/trigger\/\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"link\">trigger<\/a>&rdquo;:<\/span><br>choose something you always do every Sunday, such as eat lunch or go to Sunday school&mdash;you&rsquo;ll have drawing time right afterwards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Make sure to do it at least 3 times in a row, maybe more:<\/span><br>DO NOT let yourself off the hook<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The funny thing is, once you&rsquo;ve done this a few times, it will start to feel &ldquo;wrong&rdquo; if you don&rsquo;t do it. <em>Note: It might take you longer to form a new <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;habit&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Something you do all the time without thinking about it. You can have good and bad habits!&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/sukiwessling.com\/kidblog\/glossary\/habit\/\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>habit<\/a>:<\/span><br>do you always chew them while reading? while in the car? when you&rsquo;re nervous?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Think of something else you could do:<\/span><br>hold a fidget toy while reading, or practice deep breathing when you get nervous<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Enlist someone else&rsquo;s help:<\/span><br>ask your parent or a friend or sibling to say a code word&mdash;make it silly!&mdash;if you fall back into the <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;habit&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Something you do all the time without thinking about it.
