Raised by a piano teacher mom, I was steeped in music from an early age. We mostly listened to classical music, Catholic church music, and folk (yup, it was the age of 60s Catholic parents listening to Peter, Paul, and Mary!), but then one day my older brother brought home a record of Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy by The Who and our musical lives changed. I have had periods of interest in almost every genre but heavy metal and country & western.

I have played (in order) piano, flute, recorders, harp, oboe, harpsichord, guitar, voice, mandolin, and theremin. My current performing instruments are voice and guitar with some flute thrown in. My musical interests include medieval classical, modern classical “new music,” jazz, and random popular styles.
I am a board member for the Jazz Society of Santa Cruz County.
I love making music! Here are a few links for your enjoyment.
- Friend Patrick and I have been doing some Covid-era distance recordings. Here’s Jolene. Here’s a song I wrote, Millennial Holiday.
- In the 80s, my band recorded two songs in a studio. Out of the blue, some French 80s enthusiast contacted me to let me know that they’re listening to it at European raves. Well, OK. Here’s the A side and the B side.
- In January, 2021, I did a solo show at the Corralitos Cultural Center’s Three Sea Show. Here’s the video.
- I had to do something when we were in lockdown, so I made a personalized version of A Foggy Day: Foggy Santa Cruz. Then I recorded Witchcraft.
- My band, Persephone, made a video in 2019 at the CCC. Here it is.
- I love this recording of Ain’t Misbehavin’ we did in the first iteration of Persephone with Jen Bruno and Magdalena.
